" All rise! Chancellor Thelonious Jaha presiding as judge. The defendant and all witnesses have been sworn in." Gavin said after bringing Susan into the courtroom and escorting her over to Marty. Susan was wearing this as she had her hands cuffed in front of her. She didn't make eye contact with anyone as she sat down. Chancellor Jaha then said, " You may be seated. As Jasper made his opening statement to the jury he pointed at Susan. Murphy looked at Susan and he saw her lower her head. Stay strong Susan...we're here for you... Murphy thought as he listened to Marty tell his opening statement. " Ladies and Gentleman of the jury, My client Lieutenant Susan Markington may have threatened Chancellor Pike, but she would never kill him unless ordered to do so. Today you will hear witness statements and her own testimony. Now as we hear these please remember that she is one of our two best Hunters." Marty said as John smiled at Jaha. After Marty returned to the defense table Jaha said, " Chancellor Kane please call your first witness." Kane stood up and said, " The prosecution calls Susan Markington to the stand." As Murphy looked at Susan he saw her stand up in a daze. As she sat in the stand she stared at Murphy. John nodded his head as Susan was questioned by Jasper. As Susan was questioned Murphy looked at Marcus and Abby before sighing. He took Clarke's hand and entangled his fingers in hers. He gave her a small smile before watching Marty cross-examine Susan. Jasper stood up and and cleared his throat. He glared over in Susan Markington's direction as he said " miss Markington I am Jasper Jordan and if you please look at me while I'm talking to you it would be greatly appreciated. Now to begin on the day that Chancellor Pike was killed did you or did you not threaten to kill Chancellor Pike?" He rolled his eyes as he waited for Susan to answer. " Yes I did." Susan said as she looked at Jasper. She then waited for the next question as a few gasps were heard fr the delinquents. As Chancellor Jaha banged his gavel the delinquents fell silent. Jasper Jordan |

"I was angry because he stopped the spar I was having with my commanding officer." Susan replied as she glanced at Murphy.

Jasper nodded as he looked over at Murphy before turning his attention back to Susan. He thought now why would Chancellor Pike stop a spar with a girl and her commanding officer. He shook his head as he was ready to ask Susan another question. " Now if I may miss Markington would you tell me what really happened from your point of view?" Susan Markington |

Susan glanced at Marty and Murphy and she saw that they both nodded their heads in approval. She then took a deep breath before saying, " I was out of it...After being hit with electricity from a baton and finding out that my parents died from Pike's orders...I guess I lost it. If it hadn't been for Chancellor Kane telling Marty to stop me, I probably would have slit his throat right then and there. Pike told me to join him and rule by his side...like he was trying to force me to join his cause." Marty knew what was coming next as he said, " Objection! Relevance." Jaha looked at Susan before saying, " Overruled! Please continue Susan." Susan swallowed spit before continuing, " I told him to go suck a dick because I would never join him as an Ark Guard. As a Huntress, I have my ways of dealing with people. My loyalties lie in protecting others and as a result I took out my bow and arrow since my pocketknife was confiscated by Marty. In the process of the confiscation, my commanding officer's throat was nicked from the blade being removed at close range." A murmur went through the other Ark guards and a few delinquents. Murphy looked over at Nikolai who was wringing his hands in anger. John knew how Nikolai felt at that moment as Susan had just admitted to attempted murder of an Ark official. Susan looked at Jaha before saying, " I pointed the bow and arrow at a boar near the south entrance of camp. After killing it I was shocked again before making a pledge of loyalty to join either Chancellor Pike or Chancellor Kane. Before I could finish the pledge I was given my pocketknife back after my commanding officer returned to stop Marty from shocking me once more. Once I had my knife back I hid it in my right sleeve before standing up." Jasper Jordan |

Jasper raised his eyebrows as looked over at Jaha before he looked at Chancellor Kane. He just needed to find out what happened through Chancellor Kane's point of view. He whispered to Jaha softly " do I have your permission sir to ask Chancellor Kane what happened through his point of view?" He waited for Jaha's answer to what he had whispered asking him before addressing and asking Susan any more questions. Susan Markington |

After getting the approval from Jaha, Jasper looked over at Chancellor Kane and asked him " Chancellor Kane if you could please tell the court what happened the day Chancellor Pike was killed from your point of view?" Chancellor Kane glared at Jasper before saying " Jasper what happened was that I saw Miss Markington threatening Chancellor Pike. The next thing I know, she had stabbed the chancellor with a pocket knife in his stomach." Jasper nodded at Chancellor Kane before he looked over at Jaha. " No further questions your honor." Jasper said as he sat down next to Kane at the Plaintiff's table. Susan Markington |

As Marty stood up he walked towards Susan. He had on his Military Lawyer outfit and he said, " Lieutenant Markington. You said you threatened Chancellor Pike correct?" Susan relaxed during the cross examination as she said, " Yes sir, I did." Marty then asked her, " What happened after you stabbed Chancellor Pike?" Susan replied, " I was sent to the stockade for a day then I was in the brig until today, sir. I haven't seen the light of day since." Marty finally asked, " What happened between the stockades and the brig Lieutenant?" Susan smiled as she said, " I was allowed to see my commanding officer for the final time and before I knew it I was firing an arrow at Chancellor Pike. When I saw him my mind went blank and the rage consumed me. The arrow hit my commanding officer and he then threw Chancellor Pike at the wall behind me. After ordering code red, Gavin was told to beat him up before I was told to fire another arrow into his chest. We were supposed to keep him alive so my commander could get the final kill, sir." Susan relaxed as Marty said, " No further questions your honor." Jaha looked at Susan and said, " You may step down. Jasper, call your next witness." Susan returned to the defense table with Marty who whispered to her, " Good Job...We can get you off the hook with an insanity plea." Jasper Jordan P.S. Murphy is next followed by jury deliberation before sentencing for Susan. |

Jasper rolled his eyes as he looked over at the defense table. He looked over at Jaha as he said " I call to the stands John Murphy." He saw Murphy take the stands as he figured that the judge Jaha would take things from here but he wasn't sure. Jasper looked over at the people of the jury as he soon knew that after the witness is done they would soon be deliberating. He looked over at Murphy as he took the stands. As John took the stand he looked at Kane before sitting down. " Lieutenant Murphy, As we just heard your throat was cut by the defendant, correct?" Kane asked as he traded places with Jasper. Murphy replied, " Yes sir. It was an accident." John replied as he kept eye contact with Kane. " Did you witness the defendant kill a boar?" Marcus asked. " Yes, I had just gotten patched up by Dr. Griffin and allowed to return to duty." Murphy replied as he glanced at Abby. " Did you order Gavin and Lieutenant Susan Markington to beat up and injure Chancellor Pike so you could make the final kill?" Marcus asked. Murphy smiled as he said, " Yes." Kane returned to the plaintiff's table. " No further questions your honor." Kane said as he sat back down. Jasper Jordan |
