Bellamy is a natural born leader that takes charge with ease. There are times he likes to show his power by using violence if others don't listen but he only has three reasons for it, to protect everyone else, himself or to look more powerful. When he first arrived to Earth he made good sure of that by instantly leading others and giving people what they wanted; no rules. On the outside Bellamy may seem like he's not all that caring to strangers but he is. There are many times he's shown to be very protective of people he cares about, especially his sister. While other times if anyone threatens him or anyone else's life, they're dead to him. This can make him extremely vengeful if someone was to attack anyone innocent. On the inside, Bellamy has many regrets about what he's done and would give his life to bring back the ones he's killed, or imagined he's the reason for their deaths. He hates feeling weak and has a constant fear of losing his sister, making him unafraid of death if she was ever in danger.
His personality has changed dramatically since he first landed on the ground. The first time he stepped foot on the Earth he had a lot of secrets and was almost merciless and controlling but over time he's shown to have become more loose and trusts others a lot more. He's extremely loyal to only certain amounts of people and is cares greatly about the well being of others, especially the innocent ones. Bellamy is driven by moral and acts upon what he thinks is best for everyone else, even if his closest friends don't agree with him. Now, he is willing to give others a chance which could be the death of him someday. Unlike before, where he was terrified of losing his life, he is more than willing to lose his life to save the many.

History
Bellamy was born on the Ark to a single mother named Aurora Blake. His mother always protected Bellamy and cared for him well, even there were times she wasn't completely happy sometimes. His mother noticed that he took a liking towards mythology and history which gave his mother a way of bonding with him even more. What changed his life at the age of 10 was that he became a brother, something that was illegal on the Ark. Aurora Blake gave birth to a second child which was a struggle for Bellamy to deal with in the process. His mother needed help but she couldn't get it, the Ark couldn't know about a second child. Bellamy named the child Octavia after a Roman emperor's sister.
Octavia spent most of her life under the floor where she would keep in hiding from the Ark guards whenever they visited. The Ark was in need of more guards and they came to Bellamy to recruit him, to which he agreed. He was extremely close to Octavia and very protective of her, he hated the idea of her spending most of her time in hiding under the floor but it was to protect her and their mother.
This lasted for a while until Bellamy had grown tired of seeing Octavia so upset about hiding her existence. He knew the moon was rising and had been planning this for a while. It was a celebration where everyone wore masks to somewhat of a party. He was positive that this party was a reasonable one for Octavia to attend, since they don't have to show identity. While their mother was out Bellamy snuck Octavia out and brought her to the party, he had already supplied her with a mask to her excitement. The party was going well until the guards showed up, Octavia had no idea while they were demanding it. He pleaded for one guard to let her go but they didn't. Instead, Octavia was arrested and their mother was floated.
A few years after this the same guard came to Bellamy giving him an offer that he couldn't refuse. 100 prisoners, including Octavia, were being sent to the ground. The catch was, Bellamy had to kill the chancellor in order to guarantee a position on the dropship. So he agreed and shot Jaha to get on the dropship where Octavia was.
Once reaching the ground Bellamy took order straight away and announced a rule to everyone: Whatever the hell we want. He knew perfectly well that most of the prisoners were tired of living by rules on the Ark, so he used it to his advantage. Thanks to the blonde princess, he found out that the wrist bands that they were all wearing were the key to the Ark getting to the ground. So he attempted to throw away that key, which he was successful for. Bellamy had even left someone to die and throw away a radio in order to make sure the Ark doesn't come to the ground and kill him for shooting the chancellor. There were times Bellamy had been the reason for a lot of people's deaths and some have even attempted his own, such as John Murphy.
The grounders became a huge issue for Bellamy throughout his time on Earth, they had even waged war upon them and lead him to believe that they had taken his people.
Bellamy has been through hell and back just to save lives while killing more along the way, each one he felt guilty for. Such as Mount Weather, he was part of that. He has helped kill a grounder army along with Pike.
